Our team offer advice and support in helping the service users to maintain their tenancy and financial independence. Melba Lodge offer service users advice on budgeting for regularly expenditures such as rent, utility charges, transport, etc.
Our staff support service users in regaining lost social skills and acquire new ones to facilitate their re-integration into the community. We support in developing their latent skills which including domestic skills development, cooking skills, development of social skills etc.
We also identify and organise social events such as: Melba Lunch, day trips, barbecues, birthday celebrations – to which the resident can invite his/her friends and family – video, film nights, etc, and, at appropriate times seasonal outings. Our staff also encourage clients to participate in leisure activities that are offered by local day centres.
We have a strong success rate in helping residents move into independent housing.
It is very reassuring knowing my sister is in very good hands at Melba Lodge. I know she is being looked after and safe. The staff are great and my sister has settled in well in the short time she has been there.
